Almost moving time!

The coop and run are almost done, by this weekend the chicks should be in their new home!

Peck-a-boo

Just playing a little game of peck-a-boo with the chicks...

The chicks are growing so fast! They get to go outside for a little while almost every day now. But we have to be there with them, because the cats want to get them very badly.

3 weeks old

The chicks have grown a lot. They like relaxing in the sun.  My dad might finish building the coop today.

They went outside again yesterday, it's much better than the boring basement!

First Outing

At nearly 3 weeks old, the chicks went outside for the first time this weekend. They loved it!

We covered the "run" with an old window screen, but still had to stand guard, as the cats were very interested in the peepers.

Growing Up

What a difference 2 weeks make! The chicks have grown a lot!
Yesterday we added a clump of dirt and a small roost to the brooder.

Leap Chickens!

On February 29th we bought 6 Amberlink chicks at our local Tractor Supply store. So far they are living in a cardboard brooder (also from TSC) in our basement, to keep them safe from our cats.
